| There are 20,000 different types
of insects and oceanic life such as bees, hornets, mosquitoes,
jellyfish, scorpion fish all over the world. In Korea,
there are 1,000 types of insects. ThemoThera is a portable
implement to treat an itch or a pain on the skin when
an insect or a mosquito bites you, but not when a poisonous
spider, a scorpion, or a snake bites you. If
you apply ThermoThera to the skin bitten by an insect,
and push the button on the top, the temperature will
rise up to 50-60¡É within a short while. If you keep
applying ThermoThera to the skin for about 30 seconds,
the infrared energy produced from a heat source permeates
up to 2mm into the skin, and partly destroys the poison
or causes increasing blood flow rates to treat the itch
and pain.
ThermoThera has a heat source which
we developed on our own, and which is to quickly transfer
the heat without danger of a skin burn. In order to
transfer the heat more efficiently, we worked out an
optimal design for the heat source and the part around
it. Moreover, we blocked the heat source with a mesh
and used radiated energy. ThermoThera is a product that
we, Nanoptic, Inc., developed considering the convenience
of using and carrying it.
